The Breed Report: Hybrid Cats

Hybrid-Cat

Hybrid cats are special cats that come from mixing domestic cats with wildcats. Some examples of hybrid breeds are Bengals, Savannahs, Caracats, Cheetohs, Kinkalows, Chausies, and Lykoi. These cats often look different and act differently than regular domestic cats because it may take many generations of breeding for them to become fully domesticated.

When you want to fly with a hybrid cat, you should know that some countries and airlines have rules about these cats. They might ask for papers proving what breed your cat is and its family history.

If you're going to a place like Australia, New Zealand, Norway, Ireland, the United Kingdom, or certain U.S. states such as Hawaii, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New York, you need to be extra careful and learn about their rules.

Here are some additional steps to take if you plan to travel with a hybrid cat:

1. Research: Look up the rules about hybrid cats in the place you are visiting and go to your airlines website to research their policies on flying a hybrid cat.

2. Get Documentation: Make sure you have the necessary papers that show your cat's breed and family background. The breeder is a good place to start with your required paperwork.
